The Libranos. The Trudeau Liberal Cabinet are corrupt criminals. During the past 9 years, Liberal cabinet members have committed an impressive array of “ethics violations,” which for any other Canadian would be considered crimes. Justin Trudeau broke Parliament’s ethics laws at least twice. See here and here. So has Public Safety Minister, now Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc (here and here), as has the Trade Minister Mary Ng. Even the prime minister’s former parliamentary secretary, now the House of Commons Speaker, Greg Fergus. See here.
The Ethical Violations of the Trudeau Cabinet
Who can forget Trudeau’s firing his Attorney General, Jody Wilson-Raybould, when she wouldn’t do his bidding to halt a criminal prosecution involving SNC-Lavalin. That scandal caused insiders to fall on their sword for Prime Minister. Trudeau was also caught accepting “favours” from rich friends. Perhaps bribes. Even worse, the entire cabinet seems to have been involved in the WE Charity scandal, although only the former Finance Minister, Bill Morneau, was punished. Justin, his family, as well as Morneau and his family, were caught taking “favours” from WE Charity that for some strange reason ended up with a “sweetheart deal” to administer the $912 million Canada Student Service Grant program (CSSG).
Public Safety Minister, now Finance Minister, Dominic LeBlanc, was caught appointing family members and Liberal financial supporters to judgeships (see here). LeBlanc was also caught handing out lucrative fishing licences to his wife’s family (see here). Ho hum. Just a typical Liberal.
Trade Minister Mary Ng, another member of the Trudeau Cabinet, was caught handing out lucrative contracts to a close friend. The House of Commons Speaker, Greg Fergus, was caught attempting to influence the CRTC to grant a licence to a close friend. See here. Fergus was caught when he was the prime minister’s former parliamentary secretary, not when he was Speaker.
Just how bad are the Liberals?
That seems like a lot of corruption. But what do we have to compare it with? Were members of the Harper Cabinet just the same? The current Conflict-of-Interest rules only became law late in the Harper years, so Trudeau’s misrule cannot be compared directly with the Harper era. Nevertheless, memories linger about Minister Bev Oda’s outrageous bill for “orange juice” and the scandal caused by Senator Mike Duffy.
Another possible comparison is the national crime rate. Are Liberal Ministers more-or-less criminal than regular Canadians?
Liberal Cabinet Members vs. Adult Crime Rate
Digging into the history of Liberal cabinet members (not including parliamentary secretaries) we find there have been 62 Liberal Cabinet Minsters since Trudeau gained power in 2015. Out of these 62 individuals, 5 have been charged with committing at least one violation of the Ethics Code. Other violations may have occurred, but suspicions are insufficient. I’m only looking at actual times that Trudeau Cabinet members were charged and found guilty. Such violations would be called criminal for normal people, but Parliamentarians get a break.
Thus, 8% (5 out of 62) of Liberal cabinet ministers are convicted “criminals”
How does that compare with the general public? Over the period that the Trudeau Liberals have ruled Ottawa (2015-2024), the adult crime rate (excluding traffic crimes) has averaged 1,496 crimes annually per 100,000 Canadians over the age of 18, as reported by Statistics Canada. Or, in percentage terms, that would be 1.5% of adults were caught committing a crime each year.
Trudeau’s Liberal cabinet ministers are more than 5 times worse than regular Canadians.
Given that 8% of Trudeau’s Liberal cabinet ministers are criminals, compared with 1.5% of adult Canadians. It doesn’t look like Trudeau chose the cream of the crop. Or maybe he did.
Note: The age range in the StatsCan table should be adjusted to show adult crimes only, ie, 18 years or older. This is generous to the Liberal Cabinet as they are much older than 18. If we compared the Liberals to those 40 years of age or older, Liberals would look even worse.
What about Canada’s gun community?
Canada’s firearms community is exceptionally responsible and law abiding. See here and here. In 2023 there were 2,352,504 Canadians licenced to own and keep firearms, i.e., holders of a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL). Each firearm owner was vetted by the RCMP, as well as screened nightly for any possible public safety threat. In 2015, when the Liberals came into power, there were 2,026,011 PAL holders. Each year, fewer than 1% of PAL holders have their licence revoked (from 0.09% to 0.15%). The reasons for revocation vary, from court orders to mental health issues to suspected “potential risk to cause violence.” Some revocations are due to criminal offences, but most are not. Over the years Trudeau was in office (2015-2023), the annual average of revocations for any reason was 0.13%.
Trudeau’s Cabinet was over 61 times worse than Canada’s PAL holders (0.13% vs. 8.1%)

OUR RIGHTS WERE PAID FOR IN FLESH & BLOOD!
No firearms should be banned. Educate firearm safety in our schools. In my high school we had a rifle range where we competively shot for awards. Use a firearm in a crime, automatic 20 year sentence with no appeal period.
